Ways You Can Help One World Montessori to Grow and Thrive

One World Montessori School hosts a major fundraiser each year – “A Taste of California” wine and cheese tasting event with live and silent auctions. This event is a chance for our One World families and friends to enjoy a pleasant evening together, tasting local California wines, enjoying a variety of cheeses and other delicious foods, listening to live jazz, and participating in the live and silent auctions. All proceeds go directly to the school’s educational programs and to our scholarship fund, which has allowed hundreds of children of limited means to attend the school over the past 30 years.

This event, and the generous contributions of parents, and other interested organizations, help us enormously. Organizations wishing to donate items for the live and/or silent auctions should download and complete the Merchandise Donor Form and the Merchant Sponsor Letter . Anyone wishing to make a cash donation or purchase tickets for the event should contact the San Jose office at 408-723-5140, or email us here. Tickets can also be purchased by credit card here.

On an ongoing basis, there are several other ways to lend us a hand.

Each of the fundraising opportunities listed below incur NO COST to you whatsoever. Some of these pay the school a percentage of your purchases, money you are already spending, on your registered credit cards or store cards (like Safeway). Some are programs in which merchants (General Mills and Amazon) give back on purchases you are already making. And some allow One World to raise money while supporting our commitment to a green school community.

E-SCRIP

All families are required to register for the eScrip program. This is an easy way to donate a portion of your regular expenses to the school without cost to you. Please register directly by going on their website at www.escrip.com. The school account number is 0137612721.

You can register any of your credit, payment or grocery cards with eScrip. Any time you use one of those cards at participating merchants, they will donate a percentage of your purchases to the school. The e-scrip program protects the confidentiality of your credit card numbers, so you don’t have to worry. This is an easy, safe way to donate, without spending any more than you already do! Merchants include Safeway, Whole Foods, Round Table Pizza, American Airlines, Chili’s and many more. See the office or contact us for additional information.

For Safeway

We would like to remind you that you must renew your Safeway registration every year between September 1st and October 31st. Go to www.escrip.com. and click on “Yes! Click Here to Renew” in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. You will be asked for your Safeway card number or registered phone number.

delete: Every year, One World sponsors a QSP advance order sale (Gift wrapping papers, chocolates, and so on). Watch the newsletters for details, or contact us here for more information.

More

Box Tops: Clip Box Tops coupons from hundreds of participating General Mills products with the original Box Tops program. Box Tops are worth 10 cents each. Please turn these in to the office.

Amazon: The school will receive 5% of any purchase made through our website link. It’s EASY! When ordering anything from Amazon.com, please start your shopping here.

Ink Cartridges & Cell Phones: We will be happy to accept your used cell phones and ink cartridges for recycling. Please bring them to the office and we will forward them on to the recycler.

With very young children in our Infant Community who are working at potty training, we use training pants from Tiny Tots. If you have a little one, and are using Tiny Tots' cloth diapers or training pants, please mention to the representative that you are a One World parent and Tiny Tots will give us a discount on our next bill.

MATCHING DONATIONS AND GRANTS

We would like to call your attention to an opportunity to make your donations go farther. There are many companies that have matching donation programs. Please check with your employer to see if your company offers a similar program. Also many companies offer grant opportunities for educational institutions or nonprofit organizations. If your employer offers these opportunities, please let us know. If you have any questions or if you need more information, please feel free to contact Lisa at the San Jose campus.

Your help in supporting our school community is greatly appreciated!
