Ways You Can Help One World Montessori to Grow and Thrive
One World Montessori School hosts a major fundraiser each year – “A Taste of California” wine and cheese tasting event with live and silent auctions. This event is a chance for our One World families and friends to enjoy a pleasant evening together, tasting local California wines, enjoying a variety of cheeses and other delicious foods, listening to live jazz, and participating in the live and silent auctions. All proceeds go directly to the school’s educational programs and to our scholarship fund, which has allowed hundreds of children of limited means to attend the school over the past 30 years.
This event, and the generous contributions of parents, and other interested organizations, help us enormously. Organizations wishing to donate items for the live and/or silent auctions should download and complete the Merchandise Donor Form and the Merchant Sponsor Letter . Anyone wishing to make a cash donation or purchase tickets for the event should contact the San Jose office at 408-723-5140, or email us here. Tickets can also be purchased by credit card here.
On an ongoing basis, there are several other ways to lend us a hand.
We have a sponsor arrangement with Amazon that provides One World with a small return if you buy books from Amazon through our web site. We get 5% of all book purchases you make from them, and 15% of the purchase if you order any of the Montessori or child development books listed here.
All families are required to register for the eScrip program. This is an easy way to donate a portion of your regular expenses to the school without any additional cost to you. Please register directly
by going to their website at www.escrip.com. The school account is 0137612721. You can register any of your credit, payment or grocery cards. Any time you use one of those cards at participating merchants, eScrip will donate a percentage of your purchases to the school. The eScrip program protects the confidentiality of your credit card numbers. It is an easy, safe way to help One World, with no additional cost to you. Participating merchants include Safeway, Whole Foods, Cosentino, Round Table Pizza, American Airlines, Chili's, and many more. Contact us for further information.
Every year, One World sponsors a QSP advance order sale (Gift wrapping papers, chocolates, and so on). Watch the newsletters for details, or contact us here for more information.
With very young children in our Infant Community who are working at potty training, we use training pants from Tiny Tots. If you have a little one, and are using Tiny Tots' cloth diapers or training pants, please mention to the representative that you are a One World parent and Tiny Tots will give us a discount on our next bill.
We also recycle ink cartridges and old cell phones as part of our fundraising efforts. Contact us for more information.
One of our former parents, Suzanne Keyes offers an on-going fundraising opportunity for One World through Kidz Shoppe. She will donate back to One World 30% of her profits on all sales of gently used clothes and toys donated by One World's families and friends.
