An important aspect of the Montessori Method is the role of the adult relationship to the child. We think of these people as directors or directresses rather than teachers. Their role is to guide and direct the child, rather than simply lecture. The directors must "kindle the flame of interest," then step back to allow the child the joy and growth that comes from exploration and discovery. All our teaching staff are Montessori trained and certified, and adhere to the philosophy of the school and Maria Montessori. We actively support all our staff in their continuing education in the Montessori Philosophy.
